Dell Sales off Twitter top $3million

Dell made a statement on their Direct2Dell blog this week that they can attribute more than $2 million in revenue to their @DellOutlet Twitter feed.  They now have over 600,000 followers on this feed.

In addition Dell is also seeing that this Twitter feed is driving interest in new product.

People come from  @DellOutlet on Twitter into the Dell.com/outlet site, and then ultimately decide to purchase a new system from elsewhere on Dell.com. Factoring in those new system purchases that originated from @DellOutlet, Dell has actually eclipsed $3 million in overall sales.

Is Twitter right for your company? Do your homework.  Listen to the conversation on Twitter and see if there is a large enough group of people interested in your product, or your field of expertise.
